Officials said on Wednesday that citing “irregularity” in the process, the Railway Board has canceled all pending departmental selection on the group C post, which were not finalized till March 4. Also read: RRB NTPC Exam Date News Live Update,
In a circular sent to general managers of all railway areas on Wednesday, the board said, “Due to the many irregularities seen in departmental selection in recent times, it has been decided to re -look at the departmental selection structure and all pending selections/ldces/gDCE (within Group C) which have not been finalized and not approved.”
He said, “No more selection can be started until further orders. Further instructions to regulate the mines will be issued in the appointed time.”
Earlier in the day, in a significant step, the Ministry of Railways planted the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to conduct all departmental promotion examinations through a centralized computer-based test.
Both decisions came a day later when the CBI arrested 26 railway officials of Eastern Central Railway at the Mughal Sarai of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly leaking and seized. 1.17 crore cash during his raid.
Prior to the decision of the Ministry, departmental promotion examinations were reported internal and late corruption by railway divisions and areas and the use of unfair means in these examinations.
